Chris marching in support of FLOC
Dear Friends,
I will be leaving the NC Council of Churches at the end of March to focus full-time on Tomatillo Design, my new communications shop that works with nonprofits to create amazing, affordable websites.
Since I began working at the Council as an intern in the summer of 2006, I’ve had the incredible privilege of working with the most dedicated, talented and likable group of coworkers imaginable. From its founding more than 75 years ago to today, the Council has worked on a wide range of progressive causes and I’m proud to be a small part of that legacy. Every day at the office I felt encouraged by the witness of recent saints like Sister Evelyn Mattern and Collins Kilburn.
Many of you know me from my work with the immigrant rights and farmworker movements. It has been a long, hard struggle and we still have so far to go. I’m grateful for colleagues in many different organizations across the state and nationally who are leading these efforts. You have generated great momentum for the movement over the last couple years and again I’m proud to have been a small part of this changing tide. Those who oppose us stand on the wrong side of history and I know it’s not a matter of “if,” it’s just a matter of “when” we win real reform.
While I’m sad to leave the Council, I’m excited to be launching this new venture. I’ve seen the need that many organizations have for better online communications while staying within small budgets.
The Council is now accepting applications for this position. Click here to learn more about the job opening, including a detailed description and instructions for how to apply.
With gratitude,
-Chris
